2026 Odds Review: 01/02
Not a great deal to report on this week with most odds pretty similar and no confirmed song drops. In fact the biggest moves of the week have came on the already known Malta (down to under 20-1, since pushed back out) and Albania following their performances at Bulgaria's artist selection in a great example of recency bias. That selection was won by DARA who should be presenting 3 song options at the end of the month for Bulgaria but has recently announced a possible withdrawal 'Dream Team' involvement is/was rumoured in any potential entry from her. Norway have also seen something of a recovery in their odds, surely due to Skrellex flying through the wildcard round…
Sweden's Melodifestivalen began with pre song favourite Greczula doing enough to win the heat and maintain his position there, though Sweden themselves have seen a small drift which is pretty common. Expect similar every week until/unless Sweden reveal a contender for Vienna.
Other usual favourite Italy previewed their entries for the press on Monday with Ditonellapiaga scoring the best reviews, but with a lower aggregate total than usual, somewhat confirming the year as open and maybe not hitting the usual heights. Strangely it's Serena Brancale sat as the current favourite there...
Elsewhere no sign of Czechia, Cyprus have been filming the video for Antigoni's entry so many will be in the loop on that and Armenia are smartly going internal again.
The UK has also been in the news with the BBC denying it was their "first choice/selected act" for Eurovision who has failed background checks and instead one of several options. Their choice is said to be revealed "soon", as is Australia’s “known name”…
Monday sees Serbia release their entries but the ever dangerous Ukraine headline the next week's action with Vidbir on Saturday. 1.01 odds we go over the claimed 3 hour runtime there but the performances and result could be very formative in the slowly maturing odds.
