2026 Odds Review #8: 01/03

Welcome to March! The second most important month for determining the outcome of our contest as every song and artist will join the lineup. If we haven’t heard our winner yet either selected or floating in some national final somewhere (23%~ chance we haven’t according to live odds) then we will soon. It’s been one of the busiest Eurovision weeks ever so forgive me if I have missed some development. Starting at the top of the odds Finland have seen their chances of victory jump by 10% following Pete and Linda’s win at UMK. I try to keep these reviews a bit less opinionated but have to comment that looks unaligned with what most of us saw but nevertheless the gap grows. Australia have jumped up to 4th in the last couple of hours matched in single figures after the Delta Goodrem rumours were confirmed accurate and the release of her ‘Eclipse’. It’s seemingly a return to the more ambitious Australia of their earlier years in the contest and whilst the name drew interest there was some suspicion over any entry’s strength. The Melfest heats are over in Sweden confirming FELCIA as a very short priced favourite and their assumed entry, they’re out to 16+ but mainly as a result of the move on Australia.

The marathon that is Sanremo concluded in the early hours of this morning with a narrow win for Sal Da Vinci, who has took up the ticket to represent Italy. The most Eurovision relevant of the acts, Ditonellapiaga, caused a bit of a rollercoaster with Italy’s price (they’d be favourites now) but are instead sat around 60-1. Bulgaria have also seen a big drop from prominence in the odds to triple figures after revealing their three options - or their one option of ‘Bangaranga’ and some fodder.

Serbia, Germany, Norway and Lithuania have all also chosen, some upsets, some predictable but none of these were or are fancied in the odds. San Marino have unveiled their ‘big’ acts with Rosa Chemical a past Sanremo entrant present and Senhit back yet again, this time with Boy George - A huge downgrade from Flo Rida if I may be opinionated once more. They have shortened a tad in the odds with their national final taking place on Friday.

Before then we have Romania with a Wednesday night final and our last selections of the year on Saturday with Sweden, Poland and Portugal. Czechia have also remembered they did not withdraw afterall and most of us had forgot they were here before announcing an announcement for next Sunday. The UK's song from Look Mum No Computer will be released tomorrow morning and Israel’s on Thursday.
